Day 6 Nevada and California
Out of the Luxor by 8:30am, searched for a tacky souvenier shop that was open, left there for the open desert by 9... Three hours of 100+ degree temps in the Mojave in full gear (who the heck designs mesh motorcycle gear in black?...) getting stares from people nice and comfy in thier air conditioned suv's.... After assending the San Bernidino Mountains we started to see the smog... On the way down traffic picked up and the heat really didn't change too much. After a slight route miscalculation we skirted LA and ended up in Hollywood looking for a gas station. After Pasedena the smog lifted and the temps dropped to a very comfortable level. We had our first ocean sighting a bit later to complete my ocean to ocean trip. We rode the coast to Santa Barbara, got a great deal on an ocean front room, walked a mile or so along the beach and found a great little spot for dinner. Enjoyed the after dinner walk back and really enjoyed the bed that was the most comfortable of the trip so far...
